Tuesday Tip: Set a Timer

Today's tip is to set a timer.

I am sure you have heard of the tip of setting a timer while cleaning the house. Which is a great tip! I like to set my timer in the evenings when we clean. I'll set it for thirty minutes to an hour and whatever gets done, gets done.

Aside from setting my timer for cooking and cleaning, I also like to use it for other tasks.

When I'm doing blog research or writing, I set the timer on my phone. This limits me to a specific time period which pushes me to be more efficient. If I am not inspired by the time my timer goes off, then I know it is time for me to step away and do something else.

I also set my timer as a countdown to Luna's nap when I know she's going to fight me on nap time. I will set the timer and let her how much time she has left before nap time. Surprisingly, most of the time, once she hears my timer go off she heads to her room on her own and sits for reading time.

I find that setting short periods on my timer works better than when I allot myself more time.  The shorter time period forces me to be more focused on completing my task in time.

Whatever your time-consuming tasks are or those daily mundane duties are, try using a timer to make you more productive.
