Tuesday Tip: Promote Yourself

Today's tip promote yourself. 

What I mean by this is, do not hesitate to put yourself out there by making it official no matter where you are in life. 

Soon after I became a stay-at-home mom, I recall my husband received new business cards, and I will admit I was a bit jealous. They were yet another reminder of my past life. When I told him how I felt he said what are you waiting for order your own cards. At first, I thought he was joking! But actually, he wasn't.  He reminded me that I still have a certain set of skills, but now I have different goals. 

At that time, I ordered simple cards with my contact information. I told myself when I meet people I feel a connection with, I am going to muster up the courage to hand them my card.  The first time I handed out my card, I felt really silly, but it got easier. Nobody ever said we all can't have business cards. We all have something to offer no matter what cycle of life we are in. 

I look back at those first business cards I ordered when Luna was still in my belly, and realize now they did make a difference. Even if, the only difference was my knowing I had those cards in my wallet.  Fast forward to now, I am ready to order myself some shiny new ones. 

Whether you order cards or not, is up to you, but know you are worthy of self-promotion. Here are some of my favorites business cards:

Our Office/Guest Room Tour

Our office/guestroom has been under redesign, and it is finally ready to be revealed to the world. Like a baby...decor takes time.

This is our sofa bed which I can report is comfortable for two adults. My parents visited soon after we purchased it, and we received no complaints.  My mom thought it was a genius idea to use a sofa bed. I hope her back agrees!

This is our desk area. I have learned having finished spaces in our home is much more inspiring.  I love the way it turned out, and enjoy spending more time in our office now that it feels put together. 

I added a small sofa chair and stool for Luna for when she hangs out with me in the office. I also keep books, crafts and her play laptop to keep her entertained.

As for our art gallery wall, it is a work in progress.  For now, it is filled with frames and art we got from Minted or Home Goods.  The map is a quick diy.  There is actually a large red flower underneath there (don't ask), and instead of having that big frame hidden in the closet. We took the backing off and added an engineering print that belongs to my husband.

Our home is perfect for us, and I am happy that we are slowly filling it up with things that make us happy.  As all homeowners can attest, the job is never done. I still have several projects in the works. Hope you enjoyed our office/guest room tour.
