Luna's Big Girl Room

Wednesday, April 20, 2016

The time has come to finally revamp Luna's room and get her out of her crib because I have been  holding on as long as possible. Here's a glimpse of what I am envisioning for her big girl room...

Ikea Minnen bed, Threshold gray side table, Pillowfort monogram pillow, crescent moon glow in the dark pillow, Oh Joy acrylic table, Ikea cloud pillow, Fancy Face Studio garland, Pillowfort house pinboard, Pillowfort Girls Rule sign, Ikea spice racks (books), vintage pastel globe, and Pillowfort waves blanket

Our Office/Guest Room Tour

Wednesday, May 6, 2015

Our office/guestroom has been under redesign, and it is finally ready to be revealed to the world. Like a baby...decor takes time.

This is our sofa bed which I can report is comfortable for two adults. My parents visited soon after we purchased it, and we received no complaints.  My mom thought it was a genius idea to use a sofa bed. I hope her back agrees!

This is our desk area. I have learned having finished spaces in our home is much more inspiring.  I love the way it turned out, and enjoy spending more time in our office now that it feels put together.

I added a small sofa chair and stool for Luna for when she hangs out with me in the office. I also keep books, crafts and her play laptop to keep her entertained.

As for our art gallery wall, it is a work in progress.  For now, it is filled with frames and art we got from Minted or Home Goods.  The map is a quick diy.  There is actually a large red flower underneath there (don't ask), and instead of having that big frame hidden in the closet. We took the backing off and added an engineering print that belongs to my husband.

Our home is perfect for us, and I am happy that we are slowly filling it up with things that make us happy.  As all homeowners can attest, the job is never done. I still have several projects in the works. Hope you enjoyed our office/guest room tour.

Decor: Office/Guestroom

Wednesday, March 4, 2015

Since we have yet to complete our breakfast nook area, I thought I would also get you up-to-date on other parts of our home.

This is our office/guestroom (just ignore the creepy reflection of my husband!):

This room has split personalities, and we really need to fix that.  It was originally an office, and then a guestroom with a full size bed, and now it is back to an office.  Every time my family comes to visit we find ourselves switching up the room all over again and it has become a pain in the butt.  There is no way around it, this room has to be an office and a guest room, and we will have to make it work!

Our new plan is to put in a sofa bed for the opposite wall. Searching for sofa bed and actually deciding which one to purchase was a daunting task. We thought about going with an Ikea sofa, but comfort and budget won.

We found a comfortable and reasonably priced sofa sleeper on sale at our local furniture store. The style and color would not have been my first choice, but sometimes you have to go with what works and what is in the budget.

This is the sofa bed we purchased. My style is a bit mid-century, but this classic chocolate brown couch will have to do in our office/guestroom.

My plan is to style it up with some great pillows, and accents.  Below is some inspiration.

The couch will arrive this weekend so I am hoping to provide you with a full update on our office/guestroom soon!
