San Luis Obispo + Avila Beach

Wednesday, December 30, 2015

We have returned from our family holiday in San Luis Obispo, and it was a huge success.

Our first day was spent relaxing and touristing around town.  We had dinner at Cafe Roma for my mom's birthday, and while we waited we checked out the train station.  (I've never ridden on the Amtrak train, but its on my bucket list.)  After dinner, we headed to the Madonna Inn for dessert.
My parents were in grandparent heaven all weekend long.  The following day I could not pass up an early morning run.
Next, we headed to Avila Beach.  We played, made sand castles and had a wonderful lunch at the Custom House.
For our last day in SLO, we had breakfast at our go to spot Apple Farm.  The last time we were here, my husband and I were dating. After breakfast we did some shopping downtown, and then headed home.
I am so happy we got to make new memories in San Luis Obispo and Avila beach with my family, and most importantly with our Luna.
I definitely recommend San Luis Obispo and the surrounding areas for families to explore. There are so many fun things to do so we intend to go back soon.

Tuesday Tip: Road Trips with Toddlers

Tuesday, August 18, 2015

Okay, I know there are tons of tips online for traveling with toddlers.  I am only going to add one very random, but great tip!

The best place to stop to use the potty or diaper changing is Home Depot.  I know that may sound odd, but the women's restroom is usually empty and clean!

Believe me this tip is a lifesaver during our road-trips, and there is plenty to see when your toddler needs to walk after sitting in the car for a long period. Luna enjoys the lamp section with all the lights and the nursery. During the holiday season, she loves walking around the christmas decorations and trees.
For our upcoming trip, we will definitely be stopping at a few Home Depots along the way. If you need a few more tips, I will be packing these travel necessities and an activity busy basket for Luna.   Also, my girlfriend recently purchased these inflatable rails for their toddler, and said they are fantastic. I will be adding them to our arsenal.

Do you have your own undisclosed travel tips? I would love to hear them.
