Letter to Luna - 4th Birthday

Friday, February 3, 2017

Happy 4th Birthday my Luna! "As soon as I saw you, I knew a grand adventure was about to begin" -Winnie the Pooh.

I know I say this every year, but I cannot believe you are four-years-old.  Lately, I have been telling you that you are mommy's baby, and apparently you no longer think you so. I am sorry to break it to you, but I may not stop calling you my baby until you are in the double digits, and even then, it may be up for interpretation. Please know, daddy and I love you to the moon and back.  Thank you for always bringing a sense of wonder into our lives.  You are an extraordinary daughter!
Here's a little bit about yourself:
  • You will not go anywhere without your beloved stuffed puppy that we named Butterfly.
  • You love our family hikes.
  • You became a Preschooler in September 2016.
  • Your favorite book is The Book With No Pictures.
  • You talk A LOT to daddy & I, and to people you feel comfortable with.
  • You love to sing and dance.
  • Your favorite color is purple.
  • Your favorite cartoons are My Little Pony and Creative Galaxy.
  • You absolutely love Arts & Crafts!
  • You love when we discuss our highs & lows at dinnertime.
  • Your favorite foods are flour tortillas, In-n-out, salad at our favorite sushi spot, Starbucks bacon gouda sandwich, pancakes and pink lemonade.
  • Your first trip to Disneyland was on November 29, 2016.
  • Your favorite place to visit is San Francisco, and you love to stay in hotels.

This was just a snippet of who you are my little darling.  I hope four is magical, and may you continue to learn and never lose the sparkle in your eye.
You are my sun, my moon and all of my stars.

Love,

Mama

Letter to Luna on her 2nd Birthday

Tuesday, February 3, 2015

It is official our Luna is TWO today! Happy Birthday Amelia Luna!

This year gave us a new sense of gratification in being your parents.  As much as we miss you being a baby, being able to experience life through your eyes and hearing your happiness is amazing.

I want you to know mama and daddy love you sooooooooo much! At night when you are asleep we always end up talking about you.  I tell your daddy the funny new thing you did in the day and your dad tells me about your morning together. We also look through the photo/video of the day, and love seeing you experience new things, come up with new words and sing your heart out.

There are so many things I am loving about the stage you are in, and here are some of my favorites:
when you softly run your little hands down my face  and say "nice Mama"
when you scrunch your nose to smell things as if everything is stinky
when you belt out in song
when you say "I love you"
when you dance
when you get super shaky excited seeing daddy walk through the door
when you stare into my soul as I hold you in my arms and sing Hush Little Baby
and so many more...

I also want to take this time to share some of the things you are totally into these days:

The color Purple is your jam.

You love watching Peppa Pig, Sesame Street, and Finding Nemo (and more if we'd let you watch!)

The song that makes you instantly get your groove on is Uptown funk.

You love drinking up your daily green smoothie, and then ask for a cookie.  I guess you are trying to have a balanced diet!

Coloring and going on walks are a must.

You request we read you your favorite books everyday, especially Bark George.

Lastly, your three amigos, doggy, piggy and winkle are still kickin it with you all day everyday!  They even go to bed with you every night.

Waking up with a smile and hugging your three amigos, doggy, winkle & piggy
Now that you are two years old, Mama needs a favor, please take it easy on those so-called "terrible twos,' and if you are still contemplating on whether you should bust them out, why not skip on them altogether! Gracias!

You are my sunshine, my moonlight and everything in between and thereafter.

I love you,

Mama
