Friday Favorites

Friday, June 26, 2015

It's been in the 100's here--Yuck! My week has consisted of a lot of lego building, stickers, magformer creations and playing soccer indoors due to the crazy heat. Like I mentioned before I am not a fan of summer.  Thank goodness for air conditioning!

This weekend I plan to slip away for a manicure and pedicure, and some shopping for Luna's room. We are finally planning to transition her out of her crib, and into a big girl bed because its killing my back and its time! The remainder of the weekend will be spent outside in the early mornings and indoors the rest of the day.

Below are today's Friday Favorites:

Favorite Quote: My Kitchen is for Dancing. Luna and I have a lot of kitchen dance sessions.

Favorite Weekend To-Do: Coffee in bed is on my plan of action for Sunday morning.
Favorite for Egg lovers: Baked Eggs with Asparagus sounds so good for those days when you don't feel like making a complicated meal for dinner. I love having eggs for dinner.
Favorite Hair Inspo: Hairstyles for Busy Moms. I really like the one below since my hair is about the same length.
Favorite Toddler Busy Book: Maps Activity Book is perfect for Luna. We recently discovered her love for maps.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and here's a little music for some indoor dancing!

This week has been exhausting. It was the first time since having our daughter that my husband has been away for more than one night, and holy cow I managed! But I may be breaking my no wine rule today.  Kudos to all the single parents out there!

This weekend is going to be busy for us.  We should be receiving our new sofa bed for our guest room as mentioned here, and I get to go shopping for a cocktail dress. After the week I had some retail therapy will be good.

Now time for some Friday favorites to help start us out on a fabulous weekend!

Favorite accessory: Rose Gold Geo Stacked rings.  Forever 21 may not be the best quality, but you cannot go wrong with their cheap accessories.  I have been wearing these dainty stacked rings ever since I purchased them. So why not take those 5 bucks from the bottom of your purse and go buy yourself something!

Favorite Cocktail: Sangria. I have sunny weather on the brain, and this wine lover is looking forward to trying out this "best sangria recipe."

Favorite Toddler Toy/Distraction: Little Tikes Bounce House. Seriously though...this thing is amazing! We do not own one due to space, but our friends have one in their garage and all I can say is If you have littles and space for it, then I would  budget for this baby immediately! I may have convinced my husband that Luna needs one because it is great exercise (he's all for "exercise equipment")!

Favorite Spring/Summer Dress: Alexa Chung for AG Ruffle dress. This dress does not even look like it would be great for my body shape, but I don't care. I can imagine myself sitting out back with my husband while sipping on the aforementioned sangria while Luna jumps away in the aforementioned jumper! All woman need to feel good, a shoulder baring dress is where its at.

Favorite Mama moment: Dolce & Gabbana Viva La Mamma. This fashion campaign was all over the internet, and they had me at high fashion + mamas + babies/kids. Who cares if they are gorgeous models (this article says its a bad thing), at the end of the day they are moms too. Let's love the idea and move on.

Favorite Quote: Dr. Seuss had a birthday this week, and well he always has great things to say...

Have a wonderful weekend!

We had a chill week.  Our highlight for the week was Luna's first pee in her potty, which I do not think she really understood why we were so excited--haha!

This weekend I want to cherish all the seconds with my husband because he will be going on a business trip. For the first time, it will only be Luna and I for a few days. All I am hoping is that my husband returns safely and that I don't go nuts.

For now, I cuddle-filled lazy weekend it is. Here are today's favorites!

Favorite Quote: Life Begins after Coffee--seriously!

Favorite Book: Wild by Cheryl Strayed.  I was not sure if this book would keep my interest, but I finished it feeling empowered!

Favorite Bathing Suits for REAL woman: GabiFresh swimsuits are on point, and they even make me, the summer hater, look forward to summertime.

Favorite Moisturizer: Body Shop's Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet. A few months ago I began using The Body Shop's facial products, and this moisturizer makes me feel like a million bucks! And it smells divine.

Favorite Menu Planner: What to Eat Notepad. I have tried so many menu planner ideas, and this magnet notepad works the best. Every Sunday I write down our weekly menu and then input what we need to buy into our shared Wunderlist. We keep the notepad on our refrigerator and it keeps us in line.

Favorite Toddler Toy/Distraction: Doodle Pro. This saved us during our recent road-trip. It is sleek with an easy top handle and no extra attachments (the extra stuff always gets lost or ends up in mysterious places).

Favorite Frenchy Thing: French idioms! As you all know, I am studying French as my third language, and I love reading French idioms. I cannot wait to purchase the book Edible French--below is an illustrated idiom from the book which says “Cheveux poivre et sel.”  This translates to, “pepper and salt hair,” it is used to describe graying hair. .

Cheers to the freakin' weekend!!
