Friday Favorites

What are you up to this weekend? We are hosting some friends over for dinner tomorrow and Sunday we will be partying hard with 5 year olds.  I still have no idea what I am going to make for dinner, but I like to stick to a few of my specialities. What do you like to make for dinner for friends? My golden rule is I'll cook you bring the drinks and dessert.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend, here are this week's favorites...

Favorite Quote: There are seasons for hustle and seasons for slow. Both are equally important. I have been pondering on my hustle, and I decided to give myself permission to have a slow season.  Yup, just like that.  If you need a permission slip write one up for yourself. 

Favorite Podcast: Forever 35. These ladies will make you laugh and they have the ability to make any woman listening feel like a face mask will soothe our bad days. 

Favorite Outfit: Wrap Blouse-via Asos. Point me in the direction of all the wrap blouses.  I have been wearing wrap blouses on the regular.  They are comfortable and feminine which is right up my ally.  This one and this one are pretty too.  

Favorite Fun: Disco Balls-via Design Sponge. If you want to add some pizazz to your kitchen dancing and blow your kids minds--invest in a disco ball.  I found ours at the 99 cent store.  I paid $3.99 so if you have one near you go get one!  Here's a similar one.  

Favorite Beauty: Elf Lip Tint in Perfect Pink. I got this after I heard Lauren share about it and its perfect to carry with you at all times.  It reacts with the chemistry of your lips for a personalized shade of pink.  

Favorite Food: Cream Cheese Pancakes-via I Breath I'm Hungry.  These are keto and gluten free so basically they are free.  Ha! Go ahead and make yourself another permission slip to enjoy these! 

Favorite Music: Corazon by Maluma...mainly because hearing Luna sing the Spanish and Portuguese is everything. 

Friday Favorites

What are you up to this weekend? I am feeling a lot better after an emergency trip to the dentist.  No fun at all!  I'm so glad that is over with and I am on the mend.  It is going to be another rainy weekend here, so indoor activities it is.  We are hoping to get last minute tickets to Disney on Ice, which is going to blow Luna's mind. Favorite Quote: Life is too short, smile while you still have teeth. Seriously! This made me laugh so hard! Take it from a person who just had a tooth extracted and cried like a baby to lose a tooth, but I never stopped smiling! 

Favorite Show: Z: The Beginning of Everything. As I mentioned, I have been down and out, so I've had time to binge watch this show and its good.  

Favorite Shoes: Swedish Hasbeens.  I have been eyeing clogs for awhile now. I am still on the fence whether I am a clog girl or not, but they sure do look comfy. One of my mommy friends rocks these like nobody's business, and they look so chic on her.  

Favorite Recipe to Try: Seared Scallops with Cauliflower Pureé. Scallops are sensitive little suckers, but when cooked properly they are delicious! 

Favorite Accessory: J.Crew Dipped Enamel Earrings. I am normally a studs kinda girl, but now that Luna is older, I wouldn't mind a new pair of hoops.  These are really pretty. 

Favorite Book: The Trespasser by Tana French.  By now you guys know I am a huge Tana French fan, and her latest book does not disappoint. I am not to far in and I am already entrenched.  

Favorite Song of the Week: Faith from the movie Sing - Ariana Grande & Stevie Wonder. I'll admit I like it too...

Friday Favorites

Hey Guys! What are you up to this weekend? Tonight we are going to a fun wine tasting party at our neighbor's house.  We are each bringing two bottles of the same wine and after the blind tastings, whoever brought the winning wine, gets to take all the bottles home. What a great idea, right!? Last weekend we were busy, and did not get much rest, so this weekend I am hoping for lazy mornings and pool time. Favorite Accessory: Mermaid Crown -via Chelseas Flower Crowns.  Here's a cheap, but cute DIY version.  Lately, Luna has been into crowns (no surprise in toddler girl-land).  I think it would be fun to craft up some mermaid crowns. 

Favorite Matchy-Matchy: Best Friends Bombers-via Gardnerandthegang. This mother-daughter pic made me smile. This may not be for everyday wear, but come on! I can already see Luna and I wearing them. 

Favorite Recipe to try: Baked Brie with Figs, Walnuts & Ancho Chili Honey-via La Crema. As I mentioned above, I'm going to a Pinot Noir tasting party, if I win all the leftover pinot, I really want to pair it with this.  Plus, did you guys read this article from The New Yorker, Love The Fig.  It is so interesting!

Favorite Shoes: Pointed Toe Smoking Slipper -via Sole Society.   These are not for everyone or everyday, but they are so fun.  These would look awesome with rolled up boyfriend jeans and a tee or a dress, especially as we start transitioning into Fall. 

Favorite Beauty: 10 Best Light Pink Nail Polishes -via StyleCaster.  I have been rockin' some bright nails, but now I am in the mood to chill out and go back to a pretty pink. 

Favorite Song of the Week:  Rise by Katy Perry.  I just added this to my running playlist. The olympics video is so inspiring.

Hey there! What are you up to this weekend?  We finally got Luna into a weekday ballet class, so our Saturdays are freed up. Whoop Whoop! I think I hurt my right shoulder blade while working out, so icing and sipping on chilled sauvignon blanc is where you'll find me. Favorite Hair: Dutch Braid for short hair -via The Beauty Department.  I'm still working on my braid game. 

Favorite Shoes: New Balance -via Fleet Feet Sports.  I was recently fitted for some new shoes and I can't wait till they come in (sorry Nike--you're just not supportive enough).

Favorite Beauty: Dr. Jart+ Water Replenishment Sheet Mask -via Sephora.  After having Luna, I started suffering from mild rosacea and have migrated to using redness relief and moisturizing masks. I am loving the ease of sheet masks. 

Favorite Cake: Too Legit To Quite slang cake -via Sugar & Cloth.  My birthday is in 16 days, and I literally want to have cake by the ocean, and since I am getting back to workout warrior status, this cake topper is it! 

Favorite for Kids: Clothing and Name Labels -via Minted.com.  Luna is starting preschool soon, and one of the requests is that we label everything.  There are so many cute labels on Minted, and they are waterproof. 

Favorite Song of the Week: Throwing it back to Gangnum Style because Luna was late to the game, and now she can't get enough. She cracks up laughing to the song, and dances like nobody's business. Here's proof.

Favorite Hair & Beauty: 8 Braids for short hair -via Byrdie.com.  I'll admit my hair is in a bun 99% of the time, especially with this heat, but I want to try out some of these braids. 

Favorite DIY: Giant Frames for Engineer Prints -via Yellow Brick Home. My online friend, Lauren from The Little Things We Do, recently posted her engineer prints, and it reminded me that I need to get on this. 

Favorite Dessert: Strawberries and Vanilla Cream Paletas -via Lola's Cocina. I recently made these, and lets just say they are all gone, and Luna asked for more. Yum!

Favorite Fitness: Fitspiration journal -via Target.  As I mentioned here, this summer I have lost myself a little, so I began using this journal and its been helpful. 

Favorite Wanderlust: Pelican Inn (Muir Beach) - via Pelican Inn.  My birthday is coming up, and what I really want is a a little getaway.  We love Muir Beach so this may be my first choice. 

Favorite Song of the Week: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (from "Mary Poppins") - Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke. Doesn't Mary Poppins make everybody happier!?

Hey Guys! What are you up to this weekend? We have a jam-packed weekend filled with celebrations.  Tomorrow my closest friend's son is turning 4, and I am excited to see his little face light up when he sees all the good stuff his mommy planned, and on Sunday it is our 7 year wedding anniversary (I love you more than ever MAS!).  I have so much to be grateful for and with all that is going on around the world, all I want to do is show the people in my life how much I love them even more than I already do. Favorite Home Decor:  Vanity as a nightstand -via Hunted Interior.  I currently have a regular 2-drawer nightstand, but this vanity remix is in my future.  It will be nice to have somewhere to sit and apply my makeup.  

Favorite Shoes: Kate Spade Beatriz Sandals. I have been trying to stick to whites and denims all summer so having a pop of color is pretty.  These would be fun with an all white outfit. 

Favorite Look Lately: Pink Lips + Whites -via Shay Mitchell.  Like I said above, reaching for whites this summer has made my life so much easier, but I still need a pop of color, and you all know I love a bright lip. 

Favorite Accessory: Kate Spade Going Places Square Scarf.  This would be cute wrapped around the wrist, on your purse, neck, head...okay I just like it.  It is elegant and again will add some color. 

Favorite Dessert: Chocolate Berry Cake via The Story of Cake. My friend Carrie is an amazing baker, and it is her fault I find myself browsing baked goods.  Isn't this cake beautiful?  And it has raspberries which are my favorite. 

Favorite Song of the Week: Hands to Myself by Selena Gomez...darn catchy song! Ha!

Happy July! What are you up to this holiday weekend? My goal this weekend is to enjoy having my husband back with us.  Whatever we do will be great now that the three musketeers are whole again.  Hope you have a wonderful and safe Fourth of July weekend, and here are this week's favorites...

Favorite Podcast: Beautiful Anonymous is one of my new favorites.  I listen to several podcasts, and I love that this one is easy to get into.  

Favorite Blouse: Madewell Off the Shoulder Cotton Top -via Nordstrom. I like that they paired it with white jeans which would look great for 4th of July, and any summer day for that matter. 

Favorite Dessert: Meyer Lemon Tart (with gluten free crust) -via Cup of Jo/Sassy Kitchen. I wish I had that missing slice right now! 

Favorite Book: The Importance of Being Little by Erika Christakis.  I recently began reading this book, and since Luna will be starting preschool soon its fascinating to me.  

Favorite Deal: Bath & Body Works 3-wick candle sale! I picked up a few of these candles, including the Rainforest Gardenia, and the pillow mists are also a must. 

Favorite Song of the Week: Hold On by Wilson Phillips. This song was playing while my friend, Carrie, and I were in line to pay for our candles and we had a moment. Haha!

Favorite DIY: Beach Hat -via Salty Canary. If I were Beyonce I'd wear this, but since I'm not this DIY version is fantastic. 

Favorite Book: In a dark, dark wood by Ruth Ware. This is my current read, and its good so far.

Happy Father's Day weekend! What are you up to this weekend? As I mentioned here, my family was visiting so our days have been jam-packed, and therefore, this weekend my husband, Luna and I are recuperating by having a lazy weekend.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend and here are this week's favorites...

Favorite Father's Day Gift: Tosan Convertible Adventure Pack. I won this backpack and these tees for my husband, and honestly its fantastic. Every daddy needs a cool backpack. 

Favorite Accessory: Bun Cuff -via Chloe + Isabel. I follow Jen Atkin and she truly is a hair genius so her collaboration on these hair accessories are spot on. I wear a bun all the time so I think these would be a good investment.   

Favorite Home Decor:  Wall of mirrors -via Bolig Magasin (©Frederikke Heiberg).  I am kinda digging this wall of glass for our dining room. 

Favorite Trend:  Off-the-shoulder lace detail dress -via Asos.   My husband and I recently went on a date night, and I finally got to wear this dress. I was happy that others loved it as much as I did.  I am totally feeling the off-the-shoulder trend. 

Favorite Manicure: Nude & White half and half -via Brit + Co. I used to wear nude colors on my fingernails, but it can be a little boring.  This manicure is such a fun twist on classic neutrals. 

Favorite Song of the Week: Happy because its still a favorite choice in our home! Luna loves the book too.
